A healthy and beautiful smile reflects youth and self-confidence. It relieves a person from the need to hide teeth, allowing you to be more open and approachable. Not always are the natural teeth in best shape. Esthetic problems like dullness, chips, gaps and misalignment can make the smile less interesting. As a cosmetic solution to this problem there are different dental procedures. Cosmetic dentists at Comfort Care Dental can perform thorough smile analysis and recommend the right treatment for you based on your needs. Dental veneers are one of the cosmetic solutions we offer at our Boynton Beach dental office. Are you unhappy with the appearance of your teeth? Make an appointment and meet our dentist.
Dental veneers are porcelain shells which are designed to be bonded over front of teeth. They enhance the appearance of the smile since they look very natural and reflect light greatly. The teeth can be reshaped with the help of these thin shells. They are purely cosmetic and do not have any functional benefits.
Firstly our dentist checks the oral health and asks patients about what they expect from the treatment. Esthetic errors are noted down and pictures are taken. After checking the feasibility of using dental veneers, a treatment plan is set and explained to patients. The teeth need preparation to hold the veneers. It is where some portion of enamel layer at the front of teeth is removed in order to create space for placement of thin shells. This is done with the aid of local anesthesia. After tooth preparation, our dentist takes impressions of teeth and temporary acrylic veneers are fabricated at our office. These shells are bonded over teeth until the next dental visit.
During the second visit, the temporaries are removed and the teeth are cleaned. Our dentist checks the fit of permanent veneers before bonding them over teeth. We explain to patients how to care of the veneers. With proper care, patients can protect their beautiful smile for longer.
